If there’s one thing that first-time actor Jake Ejercito cherishes in his initial foray into acting via “Marry Me, Marry You,” it is the camaraderie which the cast built with each other.

Ejercito is mighty proud of his work for the said series which will have its last few episodes in three weeks.

“So grateful na ito ‘yung unang teleserye ko,” Ejercito said during the online press conference for the show last Tuesday, Jan. 4. (So grateful that this is my first TV series.)

“And ‘yun nga, tulad ng sabi nina Pau (Avelino) and Janine (Gutierrez), we won’t be able to emphasize it enough, family kasi kami dito. I think obvious naman sa screen that we are a tight-knit group. We gelled well. ‘Yung samahan talaga, iba ‘yung energy, iba ‘yung camaraderie,” he said. “You know, we always had fun on and off the set.” he said.

For example, Ejercito did not find it difficult at all to do his breakdown scene with Iana Bernardez because of the support system, from the director and cascading to everyone else.

As to how he spent the holidays, Ejercito shared that his Christmas was just “like anyone else.”

“We had an intimate Christmas with the family. And I guess ‘yung pinagkaiba rin is I made sure to donate and tumulong sa donation drive sa mga naapektuhan ng typhoon Odette,” he said.

Avelino and Gutierrez’s characters’ dream of having a large happy family is jeopardized in the dramatic finale of “Marry Me, Marry You,” which airs its last episodes at 8:40 p.m. via Kapamilya Channel, A2Z and TV5. It will also air in ABS-CBN’s other digital and online platforms.

When Camille (Gutierrez) suddenly suffers a miscarriage, the couple will struggle to keep their family together. As she grieves and copes with the traumatic loss of the baby, she also becomes estranged from Andrei (Avelino) and will have second thoughts about starting a family with him. JB
