Actress Iana Bernardez really enjoyed her first time playing a mean character in the TV series “Marry Me, Marry You.”
The daughter of Angel Aquino felt it was quite an experience to give life to the character of Patricia Francisco, a young woman in love with the character of Paulo Avelino.
“It was exciting. It was very new, ang dami kong natutunan. Pero ang masasabi ko lang suwerte ko na ito ‘yung production, ito ‘yung cast, ito yung crew na nakasama ko sa first serye ko ever. Tapos ito pa ‘yung role na nabigay sa akin,” Bernardez said during the online press conference to announce the remaining three weeks of the show, last Tuesday, Jan. 4.
(…I learned a lot. But what I can say is I am lucky that [I worked in] this production, with this cast, with this crew, for my first TV series. Plus this was the role given to me.)
Playing Patricia Francisco proved to be a challenge for the daughter of veteran actress, Angel Aquino, one that is memorable for many reasons and one that she “fell in love with.”
“I-che-cherish ko na ito ‘yung first kontrabida role ko ever and it was a whole challenge in itself. ‘Yun ‘yung pinaka-exciting kasi hindi ko naman alam kung masusundan ‘yung pagiging kontrabida,” she said.
(I will cherish that this is my first kontrabida role ever and it was a whole challenge in itself. That was the most exciting part because I don’t know if other kontrabida roles would follow.)
“Feeling ko nga mas masaya pa siya kaysa sa mabait na role so nag-enjoy talaga ako. So, ‘yun ‘yung ichi-cherish ko talaga,” she added.
(I feel like playing her is even more fun than doing the role of a nice character. I will really cherish that.)
Bernardez is indeed grateful for her inclusion in the show which also stars Paulo Avelino, Janine Gutierrez and Jake Ejercito. Because of her good experience with the show, she now looks forward to more acting projects.
“I really enjoyed the process. I really enjoyed learning so much from my co-actors because everyone has just been so generous sa mga pangaral at pagkain (in lessons and food). Lahat (Everyone), we just really enjoyed and I’m going to miss everyone. It’s going to be a rollercoaster so we can’t wait to finish the ride with you all,” Bernardez said.
Fans can catch the final three weeks of “Marry Me, Marry You: Merrily Ever After?” on weeknights at 8:40 p.m. on the Kapamilya Channel, A2Z, TV5 and Kapamilya Online Live on ABS-CBN Entertainment’s YouTube channel and Facebook page.
