Cheers and Toasts for León Gallery’s Leon Exchange 22nd Online Auction

The world of art is once again pervaded with excitement as another new year has begun. In keeping up with a renewed spirit of optimism, Leon Gallery unlocks its aesthetic halls with its year-opener auction. This occasion encapsulates Leon Gallery’s hope for the new year, as it welcomes 2022 with the 22nd edition of the Leon Exchange Online Auction.

Revel in the works of distinguished Filipino and international artists in three days’ worth of virtual treasure hunting. For this auction, the main spotlight is thrust on an imposing piece from one of Indonesia’s fastest emerging artists, Erizal As. Included as well is a classic charcoal work by Juan Luna from the collection of Alejandro Roces and an early work by Hernando R. Ocampo. Also worth mentioning are masterpieces from Filipino Modernist masters Federico Aguilar Alcuaz, Hugo Yonzon, Jr., and Mauro Malang Santos.

A 19th-Century De Vestir ivory image of the Angel de la Guardia from the prominent Apacible Family of Batangas is just one of the historical pieces to be offered in this auction. Don’t also miss out on prized possessions from the collection of two influential Filipinas in their respective fields; public servant and philanthropist Gloria Araneta Esteban and renowned fashion designer Criselda Lontok. Not to mention that a hall chair owned by the entrepreneur, activist, and Playboy founder Hugh Hefner, that was once a permanent fixture in his posh Playboy Mansion, is also included—indeed, a tangible piece of the icon’s legacy.
