Gretchen Ho learns a quarantine mantra: ‘Relax, don’t worry, God’s got you!’

TV host Gretchen Ho was able to survive a weeklong isolation by reading over and over a message which she got from a friend.

Ho spoke about what gave her comfort via her Instagram page today, Jan. 19, where she also shared a photo of her white board bearing the message.

“To those who are feeling quite alone in quarantine, just wanted to share with you what gave me comfort in isolation (as close contact),” she said .

Ho disclosed that many who were close to her got COVID and that “this surge is also hard on those who don’t get it.”

“On the first day, since I was scared of being alone, I took out my white board where I normally write tasks for the day… and just wrote down this message I got from a friend… ‘Relax.. Don’t worry. God’s got you! You are not alone [smiley],”” she said.

“Every morning I would wake up to this message, it would be the first thing I’d see, and the words did not only bring me comfort, but also a smile on my face. I felt the Lord’s reassuring presence,” she said.

Ho likened her isolation to a “silent retreat,” deciding to use the time “for quality silence and prayer… for slowing down time a little… for being more in the moment… and learning new things” in her home.

“It’s weird because I feel like I’ve enjoyed so much, I lost track of time already,” she noted, also expressing her gratitude “for the guidance on how to spend this time, and for the peace” that she felt. JB
