Asia’s Songbird Regine Velasquez is a guest host in the ABS-CBN morning show “Magandang Buhay” but despite just being a guest host, the singer admits she already enjoys her stint immensely.

“Actually, guest host pa lang ako sa ‘Magandang Buhay’ kasi nga wala si momshie Karla,” Velasquez said during an online press conference after the renewal of her contract with the network, last Wednesday, Feb. 23. (Actually, I am still just a guest host in “Magandang Buhay” because Karla Estrada is away.)

“I’m the one doing her part now, but you know, I’m having such a wonderful time working with Jolina (Magdangal) and Melai (Cantiveros),” she added.

For the singer-actress, she feels as if she’s not working whenever she’s doing hosting chores.

“I’m just having fun,” she said. “Siguro ‘yung mga nanonood sa amin tuwing umaga ay napapansin din ‘yun, na tawa lang kami ng tawa. Kasi it’s really just fun for me. Para akong naglalaro.”

(Maybe those who watch us in the morning notice that too, that we just keep laughing and laughing, because it’s realty just fun for me. It is as if I am just playing.)

Velasquez then admitted she is missing doing hosting, and now that she’s sort of back to it, the feeling for her is great.

“You know, I actually miss… I mean I do hosting on ‘ASAP’ pero kasi iba ang format ng ‘Magandang Buhay’ (but the format of ‘Magandang Buhay’ is different),” she pointed out. “I remember doing the same thing before. I kinda miss it and I’m so happy that I was able to be given the opportunity to be able to do it again – a morning show with two other girls which I love very, very much, I love working with.”

Velasquez was asked what she will be doing after renewing her contract with the network.

“Ako, parang madami pa akong ibibirit kasi parang pang-fourth year ko pa lang ngayon (sa ABS-CBN) so marami pa akong kantang kakantahin and I am excited for that,” she said. (For me, it’s like I still have more to belt because it’s just my fourth year [with ABS-CBN], so I still have so many songs to sing and I am excited for that.)

“Plus, you know, my dream of becoming a sexy star hasn’t happened yet,” she added in jest. JB
