Celebrating Women’s month in her own little way, former actress Nadia Montenegro spoke up about turning 50 years old next month and embracing womanhood.
Montenegro shared what her life has been like via her Instagram page yesterday, March 7, showing off her unfiltered photos.
“Turning 50 next month and embracing every wrinkle, white hair, scar, blemish [and] flaw and loving it,” she said.
She also enumerated the numerous operations and surgeries she had in the past.
“14 surgeries (3 on my blind left eye, 7 births via Caesarian, 1 ovarian cyst surgery) 2 liposuctions, 1 gastric lapband (obviously malfunctioned), 4 broken ribs, 2 car accidents, 1 accident falling off a 4 story building at the age of 9,” she stated.
She also recounted a time when she “lost everything in a fire” when she was 7 years old, got diagnosed with a heart disease and diabetes, and went through some legal battles, among other hardships.
Montenegro started her showbiz career at 11 years old. She’s a single parent who has eight children.
“I am just grateful to be the woman I am now. Stronger, wiser, tougher and a BELIEVER OF GOD,” she said, noting that God never gave up on her. “Now that I am so much wiser than yesterday, I have found my purpose. I only have [two] choices in life. I please God not man.”
She wants to “empower every woman” like herself “to embrace every trial, every disappointment, diagnosis, heartbreak, defeat as a step closer” to finding peace of mind, happiness, purpose and personal triumph.
“I am a WOMAN, a DAUGHTER, a SISTER, an AUNT, a FRIEND, a MOTHER IN LAW [and] most importantly I AM a MOTHER [and] a CHILD OF GOD,” she declared, greeting everyone a happy Women’s Month. JB
