Under Armour reopens select stores in Metro Manila

In light of the easing of restrictions on outdoor exercise, Under Armour and other retail stores are carefully revving up back to life

Here’s some great news for fitness enthusiasts. Sportswear brand Under Armour is reopening select branches in the country to help individuals achieve their health and wellness goals with the sports gear they need. Here is the complete list of the stores that are now open:

  • Under Armour Trinoma (10 a.m. to 6 p.m.)
  • Under Armour SM Megamall (11 a.m. to 7 p.m.)
  • Under Armour Robinsons Magnolia (Mon to Thu: 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.; Fri to Sun: 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.)
  • Under Armour Greenbelt 3 (10 a.m. to 6 p.m.)
  • Under Armour SM Mall of Asia (11 a.m. to 7 p.m.)

Last week, Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque said in a briefing that outdoor exercise is now allowed under modified enhanced community quarantine as long as preventive measures such as wearing face masks and practicing social distancing of at least two meters are followed.

Several other local government units such as Quezon City and Taguig City have also specified additional recommendations in line with the easing of outdoor exercise restrictions. Gyms, fitness studios, and sports venues are still not allowed to operate for as long as people are in quarantine

However recent reports from experts, including the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, have warned that the two-meter distance may not be enough owing to the nature of how droplets travel through the air. While studies and research are constantly released on an almost regular basis, the most viable way of protecting yourself from possible exposure is to exercise extra caution on top of the recommended guidelines when working out.
