Uphill and Forward for the Food and Beverage Industry | Lifestyle.INQ

OCTOBER 27, 2022

There has definitely been progress from our pandemic response and it looks like the resilient Filipino is slowly bouncing back. Stronger, braver, and ready to serve!

The appearance of new dining establishments in Rockwell alone had me confused about what I wanted to try first. Specifically curated ramen, Spanish pintxos, and specialty coffee are all on the rise. Tried these in a whole Manila minute and am happy to report, Rockwell is bustling and in full swing! May this be a good sign of the times for an industry that was badly hit by COVID-19.

Ramen Ron

This well-established authentic Ramen place is done the traditional way. Side dishes are plentiful and each ramen type whether, soupy, soupless, cold,  or spicy are very well thought of and downright delicious.

Shoyu (soy based) Ramen with Aji Tamago on the side.

Karamiso Ramen for those who like it soupy and spicy as I do

Chicken Karage

Marudori

Another ramen place that specializes in chicken and everything chicken. An alternative for those who don’t eat pork.

Tsukune. A minced chicken skewer served with a raw egg dipping sauce. Perfect with ice cold Japanese beer. This dish is a must-order for me.

Bar Pintxos

A fun addition to the Rockwell scene. All-day Spanish fare and a place you can walk into when that happy hour thirst beckons.

Beef Cheeks

Jamon Alioli Pintxos

Yakiniku Manchego

Huevos con Chorizo, Patatas y Camaron

Omotesando Koffee

Japanese, clean, well-appointed, no frills just quality.

While they’ve got a great coffee selection, we truly enjoyed our matcha latte as well
