No need to stereotype actors with sexy image, says Albie Casiño

Actor Albie Casiño feels that being desirable and being an actor are distinct from each other, and people must not put an actor in a box because of his sexy image.

“I think na totally separable ang dalawang iyon. Marami namang desirable na ibang tao na hindi naman sila artista. Para sa akin, ang artista, is not just kung paano ka umarte, how you look, how you present yourself, how you treat other people,” he said during the online press conference for the film “Moonlight Butterfly” last March 11.

(I think those two are totally separable. People can be desirable without being actors. For me, an actor is not just being about how you act, how you look, how you present yourself, how you treat other people.)

For Casiño, it is also but proper for any actor to take care of one’s body and “make it look good,” because the face and body of an actor is his investment. He also explained that while he is flattered by people who appreciate his physique, he also has other projects where he does not show off his body.

“Moonlight Butterfly” is the story of Eunice (Christine Bermas) a.k.a Moonlight Butterfly, the hottest guest relations officer in Angeles, Pampanga who works hard to provide for her family, and to support her boyfriend Roy’s (Albie Casiño) education.

In her line of work, she meets a lot of men, but only one stands out — Elliot (Kit Thompson), an American guy who actually gave Eunice the name Moonlight Butterfly. He is charmed by Eunice and he wants her all for himself. He asks her to live with him and stop her work as a GRO. In exchange, Elliot provides Eunice and her family’s needs. This leads to the relationship of Eunice and Roy to get shaky.

The movie started streaming on Vivamax last March 18. JB
