Revered by many as the “rom-com queen”, filmmaker Nancy Meyers takes her genius to Netflix and is set to produce, write, and direct her next hit. Meyers is behind flick favorites like Something’s Gotta Give, Father of The Bride, The Holiday, and The Parent Trap. It’s been, however, a good seven years since we were last graced with a Meyer classic.
Deadline reports that the deal comes after the two partnered back in 2020 for a Father of The Bride Part 3 (ish). A humorous short sequel to the 90’s comedy, that showcased how the Banks family was dealing with life almost 20 years later, and in the middle of a pandemic. From there, a relationship blossomed and Meyers is reported to have made the deal with film head Scott Stuber.
Specific details have yet to be announced by both parties, but it goes without saying that this is another film that will get cinephiles excited.
