Lea Michele’s Roberto Cavalli dress for the Grammy’s may be a bit confusing. (a cropped top and a choker in one) but the colors used in the creation served as the inspo for the rose gold makeup look. Lea’s makeup artist Mélanie Inglessis reveals to Allure how the look was achieved. “We went with a rose gold, purple-y, burgundy shadow, a peachy lip, and bronzed and highlighted skin,” she said.
Products to note according to Mélanie are the Chanel Illusion D’ombre Long Wear Luminous Eyeshadow in Émerveillé and the Chanel Quadra Eyeshadow in Tissé Cambo. An alternative to these shades can be found in the TooFaced Sweet Peaches Palette (available at SephoraPH) by using the rose gold shades such as Bellini and Luscious to play with the purple Delectable shade.
Crucial to the look is a soft lip done with some lip balm. To show off the eye color, Lea skipped mascara and false lashes. If you have naturally long ones anyway, why add falsies? Mélanie said, “Lea has very long lashes—the longest I’ve ever seen in Hollywood honestly—and she’s tan and has very dark hair. So when you put mascara on her lashes, they get so long that they block the color behind it.”
