Fab fitness and food with Ayala Malls

Fitness and food were two main trends during the lockdown. People who never exercised a day were suddenly pumping iron and showing off their hard-earned six-pack abs. Likewise, people who never stepped into the kitchen were whipping up healthy gourmet meals and learning about eating well.

This is a lifestyle development Ayala Malls celebrates as new fitness, and food hubs open in their various establishments nationwide. Ayala Malls President Chris Maglanoc shares, “As our patrons return to the malls; we are dedicated to provide a merchant mix based on their evolving needs and wants. The rising desire for an active lifestyle and more dining options motivate us to create more innovative retail and dining concepts that support this healthier lifestyle.”

Pack up on endorphins

Online home workouts have certainly been helpful during the past two years, but nothing can beat the excitement from the face-to-face support of a coach and a community. RISE Nation and Padel Club are the latest additions to Ayala Malls’ fitness gyms at Bonifacio Global City.

The team of Rise Nation

RISE Nation, opening within the block of BGC’s High Street South, is the first vertical climbing studio in the Philippines and the first branch in all of Asia. Jason Walsh, founder and celebrity fitness expert, first created Rise in West Hollywood, California. There are now several studios around the world spread across America and Australia. Designed to make fitness fun, the facility has a club atmosphere while offering high-intensity, zero-impact, strength and conditioning workouts to engage the whole body and burn between 350-800 calories in just 30 minutes.

Manila Padel Club

On the other hand, Manila Padel Club aims to introduce, teach, and train one of the world’s fastest-growing sports: Padel. This new game is often described as “tennis with walls” or “squash in the sun.” The new outdoor facility at Ayala Malls will feature top-of-the-line padel courts perfect for new and experienced players.

A good sweat signals a rush of happy hormones, and it only gets better with a hearty recovery meal.

After the grind

Ayala Malls continues to open new restaurant offerings to its patrons. With more variety comes more flavors to savor after a workout or simply a jampacked day.

Chef Kennedy Alfonso of Tartufo and Bueno

Tartufo Ristorante is opening in Greenbelt with its truffle-infused Italian menu. For those craving Spanish flavors, the choicest paella, tapas, sangria, and wine will also be served at the soon-to-open Bueno restaurant at Ayala Triangle Gardens. With Chef Kennedy Alfonso at the helm of Tartufo and Bueno, he took inspiration from his previous trips and culinary heritage of Spain and Italy where his passion for cooking was reignited. Tartufo was born out of his interest and personal inclination to various types of pasta and different varieties of pizza. On the other hand, dishes at Bueno are greatly influenced by the Tapas and Paellas of Madrid and Barcelona.

Offering modern Italian dishes, Amado Fores’ A Mano is opening at Bonifacio Global City with a menu of pizzas and kinds of pasta lovingly made by hand. A family and foodies favorite, Mamou is opening soon in Greenbelt 5 with its first branch to adapt to “new normal dining atmosphere”. Its entrance features floor to ceiling floating glass doors which opens its indoor dining room and merges it with its al fresco seats.

Bryant Dee of The Fat Seed Cafe

For heartwarming coffee and comfort food, The Fat Seed Café opens its doors at Greenbelt and Ayala Triangle Gardens. Meanwhile, Dark Wing Group, the team behind the then go-to hangout spot for many Poblacion goers–Polilya, is set to open a totally new restaurant concept in Ayala Triangle Gardens. Fans of the hip and happening place can expect the same inviting vibe, mouth-watering menu, and enchanting ambience.

For sophisticated palates that crave an international menu, Dean and Deluca is setting base in Ayala Malls Vertis North. Furthermore, Visum Ventures (the same group that brought KOOMI to the Philippines) introduces another must-try dining concept originating from Australia—The Grounds of Alexandria—which will set base at Shops at Ayala Triangle Gardens.

Ayala Malls is also launching concepts that are firsts within the VisMin area. Japanese restaurant and certified crowd drawer, Mendokoro Ramenba, is opening for the first time in Cebu at Cebu IT Park. Cebuanos will finally have the beloved ramen place in their area and have a taste of its signature hearty dishes. An Italian favorite for decades, Cibo, recently opened in Bacolod at Ayala Malls Capitol Central and has been constantly filling their tables since its operation. Additionally, Nespresso is expanding in Cebu with its first boutique at Ayala Center Cebu opening in July 2022.

Finally, for food that’s good for the soul marked by the goodness of home, Mary Grace Café has expanded and opened its biggest branch located at Solenad in Nuvali, Laguna.

“We are happy to collaborate with our merchant partners to bring more amazing experiences to our patrons,” says Ayala Malls Strategic Leasing Head Mark Sablan. He hints, “And more new retail and dining concepts are to come.”

Keep amazing going by sweating it out and fueling it up at Ayala Malls. A happier and healthier you is within reach, with more offerings lined up this summer.
