To celebrate Earth Day, actress and yoga instructor Maxene Magalona gave thanks to Mother Earth, and made a public plea to help make it a better home for everybody.
Magalona expressed her gratitude in an Instagram post today, April 24, where she shared a photo of herself taken in a forest.
“My spirit is grounded in the earth. My faith runs deep — its roots are like a tree. When roots are deep, there is no reason to fear the wind,” Magalona stated by sharing a quote from “Little Wolf IV: About My Love” by Heike Thieme.
“Thanking Mother Earth for always being our solid ground. She who supports and nourishes us even when all we do is use and abuse her,” she said.

“May we all be more mindful of the way we inhabit this planet. This is our only home and we need to take care of it for the sake of future generations,” she appealed. “We are all here to live and breathe in harmony with one another and that includes nature and all living beings in our environment.”
She believes “it’s time we awaken our souls and start serving God and our communities.”
“Service is one of our life purposes here on earth and one of the best ways we can serve is to help make this world a better place — even in our own little ways,” she stressed.
Earth Day was marked internationally last Friday, April 22, with the theme “Invest in our Planet.” JB
