Traveling is what entrepreneur Jeremy Jauncey enjoys the most, especially with his girlfriend, beauty queen Pia Wurtzbach in tow.

Back from their recent trip to Switzerland, the couple is currently in Bicol, as can be seen in their Instagram pages yesterday, April 26, where they shared a photo with the Mayon Volcano in the background.

“Exploring more of the Philippines is something we’ve discussed doing since we first got together,” Jauncey said.

“In 2016 when I first visited, I got a flavor of the country’s natural beauty by going out into the provinces and exploring….. so this time around we’ve ventured to Albay, home of the volcano you see behind us- Mount Mayon,” he added.

The businessman noted that “the Philippines is so rich in natural beauty, resources and warm welcoming people but there are few places on earth that can be as impacted by climate disasters as this part of the world.”

He shared that World Wide Fund for Nature Philippines asked them to join “a trip to support the local sustainable fishing industry” and they did jump at the chance.

He also noted that three consecutive typhoons wreaked havoc in Lagonoy Gulf in Albay in 2020 alone.

In the process, the fishermen’s “homes, communities and most importantly their only source of income, their boats” were destroyed.

“We’re here to spend time with them and support a campaign to help them build back better with new boats, resources [and] education, so will be sharing how you can get involved and the impact the amazing team @wwfphilippines @wwf is having on Filipino communities,” he said. JB
