You can now download everything you’ve ever uploaded on Instagram

Like Facebook, you can now also download your data on Instagram.

Like, everything you’ve ever shared on the photo and video-sharing platform—photos, videos, archived stories posted after December 2017, post and story captions, contacts, usernames of followers and followed users, direct messages, likes, searches, and account settings.

The “Data download” feature, which can be accessed here or through the app’s privacy settings, is created not only to help users clear up their account and migrate to another social media platform, but also to comply with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) law in Europe.

“The Data Download tool is currently accessible to everyone on the web, but access via iOS and Android is still rolling out,” an Instagram spokesperson says to TechCrunch.

Unlike its owner Facebook, Instagram doesn’t seem to take advantage of its users that much. I mean, there are no stupid quizzes on Instagram that acquire more information from the users that it should. Or maybe we just don’t know its full potential yet?

On the other hand, WhatsApp also announced that they’re developing a Data Download feature soon, too, in compliance with the GDPR.
