Trust, according to Gerald Anderson, is a hard thing to regain, especially when someone has been at fault and broke that trust.

The issue of trust was discussed in during the online press conference for “A Family Affair” yesterday, May 31, as the series also tackles the said theme.

“Mahirap ’yon. That’s hard kasi nasira na ’yung trust eh. Kumbaga, may lamat na ’yun eh. Ang pinakaimportante is stay together. Kaya naman but hindi siya madali,” Anderson said.

(That’s hard. That’s hard because the trust has been broken. That is, it already has a crack. What’s important is to stay together. Trust can be rebuild but it would not be that easy anymore.)

When asked, “What helps you to establish trust?” the actor stated that one has to start from zero, particularly when the trust has been broken.

“Kailangan mong patunayan uli ’yung sarili mo,” he said. (You need to prove yourself again.)

When it comes to love, Anderson, who plays Paco in the series, assured that he will protect his family at all costs. Meanwhile, he is also grateful that he does not run out of projects even during the pandemic. He noted that everyone’s eyes were opened to possibilities despite the challenges.

But being busy, according to Anderson, has its downside.

“Mahirap din siya bilang actor kasi kapag sunud-sunod ang trabaho mo. Mentally, emotionally, kapag meron kang bagong character na gagawin, mas malaking challenge to do something different, to do something better,” he explained.

(It is also hard for an actor when your projects come non-stop. Mentally and emotionally, whenever you have a new character to do, the challenge is bigger to do something different, to do something better.)

“A Family Affair” also stars Ivana Alawi, Sam Milby, Jake Ejercito and Jameson Blake. JB
