Kira Balinger finds silver lining in career downtime

There has been a downtime period in her career and actress Kira Balinger was able to find the silver lining while waiting for projects to come.

Acknowledging there was a lull in her career after she was paired off with Grae Fernandez in “Ang Sa Iyo Ay Akin” last year, Balinger is grateful that she is now in the cast of “Beach Bros,” a new iWant series.

“Siyempre po sobrang flattered ako. I feel very grateful sa lahat ng nangyayari sa akin. I mean, kahit na may konting delay, I still manage to find the silver lining in it all. That’s the goal and I’m very, very grateful,” she said during the face-to-face press conference for the series last Sunday, July 10.

(Of course I was very flattered. I feel very grateful for all that is happening to me. I mean, despite the slight delay, I still managed to find the silver lining in it all. That is the goal and I am very, very grateful.)

“I did some things to keep me busy. I wouldn’t have done kung hindi nangyari ‘yung nangyari,” she added. (I would have not been able to do those things if what happened did not happen.)

When asked what separates girls from women, in line with the themes of the series, Balinger answered, “‘Yung mindset na rin, I guess ‘yung level ng maturity. Ewan ko, basta malalaman mo kapag woman ka na.”

(The mindselt, I guess the level of maturity. I do not know, you would just know when you are already a woman.)

Balinger plays rich girl Erika in “Beach Bros” which also stars Kyle Echarri, Angelica Lao, Brent Manalo, Raven Rigor, Sean Tristan and Lance Carr. The series will stream for free on July 16. JB
