Filipino-Norwegian actor Markki Stroem is back in Norway and shared with fans what art and culture were like there, as he went on an Oslo art tour.
“I decided to take a trip through Oslo’s art and culture. Whenever I come to Norway, [it’s] always about family, these last 2 days I came to explore,” he said in his Instagram page yesterday, July 13, where he showed snippets of his tour.
“I started with brother bear @kai_stroem at the new National Museum @nasjonalmuseet (2). Saw the “scream” or “skriet” by Edvard Munch (3), as well as other beautiful Norwegian history and folkloric artwork (4),” he shared.
In his next stop, he was joined by new Filipino friends who showed and drove him around, and took shots of him in his “unexplored home capital.”
With Vigeland Sculpture park as his second stop, Stroem took note of the “haunting, poignant works of art in their rawest of forms.”
“Naked and unafraid. In Norway, sex and nudity is not frowned upon. It is part of life, and malice [loses] all meaning. It is quite freeing to be back, especially after living in a society that condemns or slüt shames. The ‘Angry Small Boy’ (5) is one of the most famous sculptures by Gustav Vigeland. The ‘Vigeland Installation’ or ‘Vigelandsanlegget’ (6) was also quite a sight to behold,” he said.
Far from feeling scandalized, Stroem also enjoyed seeing some other sculptures, namely, “’Fellatio’ (7) and ‘A curious, Phallic Form’ (8) by Sarah Lucas,” among others.
“Excited to head back to Manila!” Stroem said. “Time to save up money again for my next Trip.” JB
