Light up eggshells for Easter

MATERIALS for the activity

For the Easter holiday, here’s an idea for a pleasant table setting.

REST cracked egg with tealight on an egg caddy.

Take inspiration from iconic Easter images—eggs, chicks and bunnies—to pretty up your table.

Here’s how to make eggshell tealight holders.

Turn the egg so that the bigger side is facing the top and the pointed side down.

Crack the top of the egg, making a small cavity so you can empty out the yolk.

Using craft scissors, cut around the egg in the diameter of the tealight candle.

AFTER cracking and draining the egg yolk, cut around the shell to create an opening to fit a tealight.

To accentuate the cracks on the rim of the egg, you can use your craft scissors to cut jagged edges.

Place the tealight inside.

Use an egg cup to hold your egg votive holder.

You can also put your egg votives in small terra-cotta pots, mini vases or glasses.

Craft scissors available at All About Scrapbooking in all National Book Store outlets.
