Walking tours across Intramuros have been back in fashion—but this specific tour takes the “fashion” part quite literally. Renacimiento Manila, Don’t Skip Manila, Akim.63, The Heritage Collective, and WanderManila, home of the Intramuros After Dark tour, is setting up a costume and tranvia tour around historical Intramuros. On Sept. 3, you’ll get to see the marvelous sights of one of the oldest areas in the Philippines in style.
The Intramuros Filipiñana Tranviaganza is a photo and Filipiniñana costume tour that takes you around the Walled City. Instead of walking, though, you’ll be chauffeured through the cobblestone streets on the fabulous Intramuros tranvia.
Since the tour is a photo tour after all, the dress code must align with the theme: a.k.a. Spanish and American era Filipiniana. Participation in the costume aspect of the tour is essential, so it’s time to dust off those old ternos and top hats you’ve been keeping in the baul.
The tour will take you around some of the most beautiful and historically significant areas of Intramuros. The list of destinations include Manila Cathedral, Fort Santiago, San Agustin Church, and Baluarte de Santiago.
There are four tours scheduled for the event: two morning tours at 8 a.m. and 10 a.m., and two afternoon tours at 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. The tour costs P1,000 per person, which already includes the entrance fee to Fort Santiago and Baluarte de Santiago, a set of photos from the tour’s official photographers, and a loot bag filled with lots of goodies to help you commemorate the day.
You and your amigos and amigas can sign up for the tour here.
¡Buen viaje!
