Rica Peralejo feared needles, injections so much that she chose to give birth at home

Actress and Christian vlogger Rica Peralejo admits that she really fears needles, to the point that she avoided getting injected while laboring.

Peralejo revealed why she would rather experience pain the natural way than getting injected, via her Instagram post last Thursday, Aug. 18, where she showed a photo of herself with her husband. The couple appears to be in a hospital in the photo.

“In sickness and in health,” she said, adding that there is nothing wrong with her “except for the fact that I hate needles.”

“Pinagtatawanan ako ng mga nurse nang manganak daw ako ng walang epidural pero halos mahimatay ako sa blood test at suero,” she said.

(The nurses were laughing at me because I gave birth without epidural but I almost fainted during the blood test and having dextrose.)

Peralejo then recalled that she chose to give birth at home because of her extreme fear of needles. With that, she made a shoutout to her husband who was with her throughout her delivery.

“I am already 41 and though nothing is wrong with me, it still terrifies me to be alone,” she said. “So it really helps that my beloved was with me and I can draw strength from him.”

Peralejo further explained that her being “boney” and having “thin veins” make injections painful for her. JB
