Adante Leyesa Boro Tote

Available for purchase on Instagram via @adanteleyesa, or at the Artefino fair this coming September.

“These nifty totes are a great option if you’re looking for a stylish but low-maintenance everyday bag. They’re sustainably and ethically manufactured in partnership with artisans from communities in Marikina and Lipa, and because they are made from fabric scraps, no two pieces are exactly alike. The upcycling process starts by taking apart old denim garments, cutting them up, and sewing them back together with a mix of hand and machine techniques. The totes come in different sizes and are part of a larger product line of reworked denim accessories and clothing. I purchased my Mini Boro Tote in the Artefino fair last December and it’s been a day-to-night wardrobe staple of mine ever since.” -Angela Go @iamangelago, Managing Editor

Sassafras Leaf Spray Pants

Sassafras Leaf Spray Pants, PHP14,200, www.thesignetstore.com

“I’ve heard of Sassafras from some menswear enthusiasts, and while good quality denim is always a sight to behold, I’m more enthused by a good brand story. Founded in 2004, Japanese brand Sassafras takes inspiration not only from vintage military and workwear, but even gardening, as shown in the wide pockets fit for garden tools. I got mine secondhand, but you can purchase at retail from Signet.” -Lex Celera @lex.celera, Features Editor

Levi’s Wedgie Straight Jean

Levi’s, Wedgie Straight Jeans, $98, www.levi.com

“Ask anyone on the planet, man or woman, and they’d probably agree with me when I say that a good pair of denim jeans can get you far. Investing in high-quality and carefully made denim has the ability to elevate even the most basic of outfits. I have had my Levi’s Wedgie Straight Jeans for over 6 years and they have only gotten better with age. My favourite part of it is the classic button fly rather than your standard zipper. It’s a small detail, but a very traditional approach to denim jeans which I love.” -Sophia Concordia @sophia.concordia, Editorial Assistant

Zara Bermuda Shorts

Zara Bermuda Shorts, PHP2,295, www.zara.com/ph/

“No other piece of clothing screams casual more than a pair of denim shorts. A definite closet staple and a go-to for days where I’m looking to just throw something on and still look like I tried. This versatile piece is perfect when paired with a flowy blouse when going for the girly look or an oversized blazer and t-shirt for those lazy days. I like to get my denim shorts at Zara not only for the wide selection of different washes but also for their quality and price point. My personal favorite is their Bermuda shorts in khaki denim.” -Colleen Cosme @colleencosme, Editorial Assistant
