Ruffa Gutierrez earns communication arts degree, thanks school and loved ones

Actress and TV host Ruffa Gutierrez announced her recent feat — that of finally earning her Communication Arts degree.

“Don’t downgrade your dream just to fit your reality. Upgrade your conviction to match your destiny,” she said in her Instagram page today, Aug. 23, quoting Stuart Scott, while sharing her toga portrait.

“I humbly want to share that I have graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Communication Arts from the Philippine Women’s University under the Expanded Tertiary Education Equivalency and Accreditation Program (ETEEAP). I am now gearing up for PWU’s 99th Commencement Exercises at the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC) next week,” she added, while also thanking her school and loved ones.

The TV host also expressed her intention to pursue further studies and revealed that she has already started in the university’s masters program.

“Because of my enduring commitment to continuously seeking knowledge and equipping myself with new skills that will help me prosper and fulfill my dreams in the ever-changing global scene, I also proudly share with you that I am officially an MA-ComArts student at PWU. The journey continues — unstoppable!” she said.

Mother to Lorin and Venice, Gutierrez said last year, “You’re never too old to chase your dreams,” when she announced that she was enrolled at PWU to pursue a Bachelor of Arts Degree majoring in Communication Arts.

“After 34 years of working in the entertainment industry, I have chosen to further my education,” she said. “Not only do I want to fulfill a long-held dream and take control of the next chapter of my life, I want to set a good example for my children.” JB
