Millar time in Manila

In what may be the wiliest move ever, Mark Millar, the brains behind Kick-Ass, Wanted and Civil War and other shelf favorites, held a contest.

Whoever places the largest order of Supercrooks, Millar’s latest title, will win the privilege of having Mark Millar fly to the winner’s country on his own dime.

In the end, it was a choice between Israel, Spain, London and New York and the Philippines, and we won!

“C’mon, tell us the magic number!” we coaxed National Book Store owner Miguel Ramos, but he just shook his head and chuckled.

Whatever the lucky number, thank your lucky stars (and National Book Store), because it sealed the deal, and in late May, Mark Millar will be making an appearance, together with his creative team, two from our hometown:  penciller Leinil Yu, and inker Gerry Alanguilan. Rumor has it that Indonesian colorist Sunny Gho may join the three for what is sure to be a packed venue.

Mark Millar is set to arrive in late May, so better make sure you clear your calendar as early as now.
