I walked in at the chi-chi 7th High Club in Bonifacio City, dahlings, and was dazzled by the gorgeous women with silky straight hair, who walked the black—yes, dahlings, black!—carpet. One of the country’s numero uno conditioners, Cream Silk, threw a glam bash to launch “Perfection” by Cream Silk, the new top specialist range developed to “prolong the full-bodied beauty of salon-straightened hair.”
This exclusive event attended by TV personalities, models, designers and hairstylists carried the theme “Perfection.”
All there was the Cream Silk rah! rah! team led by marketing manager Anna Mangilin, senior brand manager Vic Gutierrez, PR and events manager Nikki Abella and assistant brand manager Sarah Lim.
The event rolled on, palanggas, upon the introduction of the brand’s newest endorser, “it” girl, the gorgeous Georgina Wilson. Georgina explained that “the new Perfection by Cream Silk features a superior technology called Keratinology, which makes salon-straightened hair look full-bodied and silky for a longer time.”
That brought wild applause and whistles. I didn’t know if it was for Georgina or for Perfection, the buzzword that night. I can rightfully say it was for both, dahlings!
Right après that, the guests began endlessly tweeting about “#perfection” and uploading photos on Facebook, naturellement, di bala?
Mega Young Designers Competition
The well-read glossy Mega Magazine gathered the town’s A-listers in fashion and society to witness the finale collection of this year’s Mega Young Designers Competition (YDC).
“This competition has started the career of some of the Philippines’ top designers and is still continuing the search for the newest designers worthy to be the next big fashion icons,” said Mega founder and editor in chief, adorable Sari Yap.
“I believe in tradition. We started it in 1994, it was to create a platform to discover new talent. Back then, to break into the fashion industry was very difficult and there were very few avenues to generate buzz. Today, there are so many fashion schools and designing has become a go-to career for a lot of young people. Although the barrier to entry is not as difficult as before, we still wanted to find these stars and teach them the right skills.”
The Mega 20th year anniversary was an elbow-to-elbow crowd of famous people in the NBC Tent in Bonifacio, palanggas.
Gorgeous Sara Meier welcomed the guests, then a video showed 20 years of Mega, narrated by no less than Sari Yap. We were enjoying the dinner buffet while sipping chilled champagne, natch!
Après, a fashion show of the six designers was held, then Sari with Jerry Tiu, Mega Publishing Group’s chair, awarded this year’s top prize to the talented Renan Pacson, palanggas.

Après 11 awesome successful years, the “Grand Wine Experience,” the ultimate gastronomic happening following this year’s theme “Extreme!” had the planet’s outstanding wineries and distilleries serving their stuff complemented with sumptuous cuisine prepared by the talented chefs and head chef Meik Brammer of Marriott Hotel, Newport City.
The 11th edition of Southeast Asia’s biggest and most sophisticated wine and spirits-tasting event at Marriott Hotel’s Grand Ballroom had over 1,500 guests, surpassing the previous year’s 1,200—a long way from the 350 who attended the first-ever Grand Wine Experience 11 years ago.
Presented by the renowned Ralph’s Wines and Spirits and Philippine Wine Merchants Inc., with over 500 different wines and selection of high-end spirits, the event was attended by our town’s namedroppables who came to “celebrate life.”
Kicking it off were Hans Montenegro and Johnny Revilla, the emcees, with co-hosts Robi Joseph and Ines Cabarrus. They asked the four Joseph brothers, Robert, Ralph, Ronald and Raymond, the awesome men who started it all, to make their ceremonial toast, palanggas.
Marriott Hotel’s F&B director Matthias Widor and GM Richard Saul saw to it that food would be in abundance.
With more tourists coming, thanks to DOT, PAL, Air Philippines, Etihad Airways and Club Grand Cru, the grander Grand Wine Experience this year is one more reason to celebrate to the extreme! Di bala, palanggas?
