Yogo Singh shares fond childhood memories of watching ‘Lastikman,’ ‘Spider-Man’

Actor Yogo Singh has developed a strong fascination for Hollywood superhero Spider-Man while growing up.

This he shared when the concept of superheroes was brought to the fore during the grand mediacon for “Mars Ravelo’s Darna: The TV Series” last August, where cast members were asked who their favorite superheroes are and what special powers would they want to have.

“Ako po kasi ang childhood superhero ko ay si Spider-Man. Buong Spiderman ay talagang pinanood ko,” Singh said. (My childhood superhero is Spider-Man. I watched all the Spider-Man movies.)

“Pero isa rin po si Lastikman (na favorite ko). Lagi ko pong pinapanood iyon at inuulit-ulit ko ang panonood noon. Actually, nagpagawa pa nga ako ng costume noon. Lagi ko ‘yung sinusuot kahit saan ako magpunta, kahit sa costume party,” he added. (But Lastikman is also my favorite. I always watched it and watched it repeatedly. Actually, I had a Lastikman costume made. I always wore it in costume parties.)

Singh marvels at the power of Lastikman, played by Vhong Navarro in two movies.

“Humahaba ang katawan niya, ang kamay niya (His body stretches, also his hands). He’s flexible. Nagta-transform po siya (He can transform),” Singh said. “Lahat nagagawa niya (He can do anything).”

Singh plays Jiro Romero, the son of Marites, Viveika Ravanes’ character in “Mars Ravelo’s Darna.” He is the best friend of Ding played by Zaijian Jaranilla. JB
