Actress Antoinette Taus stressed the importance of saving the planet by being aware and making right choices when faced with grocery items using plastic packaging.

Taus feels that the convenience of placing goods in plastics far outweighs the harm it can cause the people when plastic ends up in the water, as stated in her Instagram page, Sept. 10, where she discussed the harmful effects of plastic.

“Every time we shop, we are faced with a series of decisions. Sometimes, we simply don’t see the true impact of them. People want to make better choices, but are limited by the options provided by producers and manufacturers,” she said.

“Governments, companies and brands have a HUGE responsibility in making sure that the products they produce don’t harm people or the environment, and must take urgent action to transition to more sustainable and circular systems,” she added.

Taus stated that “plastic packaging accounts for nearly half of all plastic waste globally, and much of it is thrown away after just one use.”

With this, she urged fans to make a pledge and take action via the organization Clean Seas.

Taus also pushed for regenerative agriculture being practiced in Italy, as per a separate post on Sept. 12.

“Welcome to #EROC — the all new or European Regenerative Organic Center located at the Davines Village in Parma, Italy 🇮🇹 — an incredible step forward in helping restore our Earth through #RegenerativeAgriculture…,” she said.
