Brad Pitt introduces new skincare line “Le Domaine”

Adding to his already impressive resume, actor, producer, philanthropist, and entrepreneur Brad Pitt ventures to new heights as he debuts his new wine-inspired skincare line “Le Domaine.”

In an exclusive interview with Vogue, he introduces the brand as a genderless skincare line that he developed in partnership with the Perrin family, his partners in his own winery in Chateau Miraval. Somewhat building a self-sustaining ecosystem that involves the two, they aim to utilize the very grapes they grow in their vineyard in Provence in The Serum, The Cream, The Cleansing Emulsion, and The Fluid Cream products of “Le Domaine.” Pitt’s team, including Dr. Pierre-Louis Teissedre, seeks to make use of the antioxidant properties of grapes. These can be found in the form of two exclusive and patented ingredients that can only be found in the wine-skincare cross; GSM10 and ProGr3 which breaks down collagen and keeps skin cells healthy.

But beyond the out-of-the-box combination of alcohol and self-care, two seemingly different and at times opposing concepts is a belief in the value of sustainability and circularity, which are central to the identity of “Le Domaine.” Aside from using the grapes grown locally for their other venture, the olive oil mixed into every skincare product is also produced in-house. Furthermore, their packaging includes a refillable bottle and a wooden cap to top that is made out of old recycled wine casks. “Le Domaine” is also genderless and showcases a very neutral and subtle scent. While a demonstration of his belief in the value of inclusivity, Pitt shares that it comes from his own preference in not imposing the scents of whatever products he uses on anyone he may be sharing a space with. “Keep it subtle. Let people come to you. Don’t force it on others” he shares.

The Bullet Train actor also shared his own thoughts on the concept of aging, especially in the film industry. “I don’t want to be running from aging. It’s a concept we can’t escape. it’s a fairytale, but what is real is treating your skin in a healthy manner.” And this very belief is something he clearly shares with “Le Domaine.” Perhaps the inspiration for the inclusion of wine is also poetic in itself, that while its flavors will deepen and improve as each day passes, so can our skin when treated properly. Age in this manner is not something that decays or corrupts, rather it matures and realizes.

Personifying the potential of all-around utility that his brand stands for, Pitt himself is a testament to what it means to be beyond what you were made for. Like a cluster of grapes grown in a vineyard in Provence whose purpose is no longer limited to just winemaking, the same can be said for the tenured actor who has definitely exceeded himself.
