With the advent of technology, actor Miko Raval feels that communicating with a loved one is now made hassle-free by social media.
Raval partners with his “Viral Scandal” co-star Dimples Romana in the “Love Bites” episode “Letters for Leah.”
As a couple who were separated in the series, Raval feels that social media made their characters reach each other in the most convenient way.
“Sobrang ang tagal nilang hindi nag-uusap, ang tagal nilang hindi nagkikita. (They were not talking for so long, they were not seeing each other for so long.) But with the help of technology, nagkaroon sila ng connection (they got a connection). With the help of social media they were able to reach each other in a way,” Raval said about his and Romana’s characters during the online conference for the series, September 4.
For Raval, the story will resonate well with those who had been separated for so long.
“When people watch this, they will be able to relate to it in a way na parang you’ll go back to your past na parang, ‘uy, parang may ganyan ako dati.’ (like, ‘hey, I think I have something like that before.’) Mare-relive ko siya by the time I watch this. ‘Uy, siguro nga, kung nagkaroon kami ng connection in this time of day, na available lahat ng communication tools sa akin, siguro hindi na siya mawawala (Hey, maybe, if we had connection in this time of day, when communication tools are available to me, maybe I will not lose her),” he said.
As to the love advice he can share with the younger generation, Raval stressed that it is always important to “just be yourself and when you find a partner, show who you really are.”
“You don’t have to hide anything kasi mamahalin ka ng taong iyon (because that person will love you) for who you are really.
Raval feels that there are people who are hiding themselves on social media.
“Iba ‘yung nakikita nila on the screen, iba ‘yung nakikita nila personally. (It’s different what they see on screen, it’s different what they see personally.) Just be yourself. Just be honest to your partner kung sino man ‘yung makaka-end up mo with (who you will end up with). Communicate well,” he stressed. EDV
