Revealing his deep relationship with God, veteran actor William Lorenzo said he is not afraid to die, only that he has one wish before he departs from the world.

“Ang isang kahilingan ko lang sa Kanya,’Lord, kung kukunin N’yo na ako, please don’t prolong my agony. Kung kukunin N’yo ako, ’wag N’yo na ako pahirapan,” Lorenzo said during the finale mediacon for “Love In 40 Days” on Wednesday. (My only wish from Him, ‘Lord, if you will get me, please don’t prolong my agony. If you will get me, don’t make me suffer.)

The story revolves around a successful woman named Jane, played by Loisa Andalio, who met an untimely death and became a ghost. She then arrives in a place where other ghosts converge for 40 days before they can cross over to their final destination. This is where she meets Edward, played by Ronnie Alonte, whose third eye was opened after a near-death experience himself, and begins to see ghosts.

This writer asked the cast members about what they are afraid of about death. Is it not knowing when will they die, not knowing how they will die, or not knowing where they will go after they die?

“Ang hirap sagutin ng tanong pero sa totoo lang (It’s hard to answer the question but in truth) I am not afraid to die,” Lorenzo declared.

Lorenzo revealed that he has constant communication with God. Although He does not reply to him, the veteran actor is of the belief that all his prayers were heard by Him.

The actor said he is thankful that he got to reach his age, as others weren’t as lucky.

“‘Yung iba ay hindi umabot sa ganitong edad at twenties pa lang o late twenties kinukuha Mo na. Pero ako ay pinaabot Ninyo sa ganito. Binigyan N’yo ko ng tatlong anak,” he would pray to God. (Others don’t get to reach this age and in their twenties or late twenties ,You already call them. But me, You allowed me to reach this age. You gave me three children.)

What he was praying for now is for his youngest child to be able to finish college.

“Anytime, Lord, kunin ninyo ako (You can get me). I am not afraid to die kasi (because) I’ve been through ups and downs in my life. Nandiyan ‘yung masaya ako, nagkaroon ako ng anxiety, nalungkot ako (There are times that I am happy, that I had anxiety, that I am lonely),” he said.

“Kung ano ‘yung ibinigay niya sa akin ay ibinigay sa akin kasi kaya ko. Kapag hindi ko kaya ay hindi Niya ibibigay sa akin kasi mahal niya ako,” he added. (Whatever hardships that I encounter was given by God because He knew that I could take it. He would never give me something that I could not carry because He loves me.)
