MANILA, Philippines — Online content creators Pipay and Marcelo Santos III are among the selected “Creators of Tomorrow” by Meta.

Meta, the company behind Instagram and Facebook, launched the “Creators of Tomorrow” showcase on Wednesday to highlight diverse individual talents in the Asia-Pacific Region who have inspired a new movement of creative content online.

The five content creators were chosen for breaking out among their communities online and showcasing a best-in-class approach to video formats, technology, and interactive entertainment.

Pipay said she began creating videos two years ago to entertain the masses and represent persons with disabilities.

“I mostly do entertaining random videos para sa masa at sa mga PWDs para ma-feel nila na ‘di sila nag-iisa — na meron palang katulad nila,” Pipay, who has since amassed 1.5 million followers on Facebook, said.

Santos, who has 12 million followers on Facebook, said it felt good to have people tell him that his videos hade helped them.

“My mission is to be a friend who will listen, a friend who will give advice, a friend who will understand and accompany them on their journey of recovery from failed relationships and what they are going through in life. I want to inspire people to use their talent and passion to help others as well,” Santos said.

Other Filipinos selected to be among the “Creators of Tomorrow” are vegan cooking channel The Foodie Takes Flight; augmented reality and virtual reality pioneer Mitsuko Uno; and DIY home decorating inspiration Elle Uy.
