Never underestimate the joy that perfect pairings bring. Such pairing can make an already festive holiday season even more cheerful. Think sushi and green tea, nuts and chocolate, wine and cheese.

But there’s another perfect match to add to the list. Nespresso and Pierre Hermé come together to bring about gastronomical happiness to those who indulge in them. Their collaboration arrives as a delightful coffee capsule collection available for a limited time only.

As individuals, these brands already connote high quality and excellence. Nespresso is known for sourcing the best beans for its coffee. It also enjoys a reputation for manufacturing innovative coffee machines with state-of-the art technology in sleek and modern designs.

The French patissier Hermé, on the other hand, has been called many names: “Picasso of Pastry” and “Father of Modern Patisserie.” He was also awarded World’s Best Pastry Chef in 2016.

When two of the world’s best in their fields become partners, expect a mastery of flavors. Their partnership brings about warm artistry that you can drink. They’ve come up with coffee blends inspired by the pastries that Hermé crafts in his kitchen.

It all begins with the Infiniment Espresso. The Arabica beans used to create this black single origin coffee are sourced from Tolima, Colombia. It is a place where farmers use natural methods and low impact agriculture to benefit the land and its inhabitants. Infiniment Espresso has the underlying notes of cereal and fruits. Under the collection are two additional flavored espressos.

The Infiniment Gourmand is hazelnut based, crafted from the roasted beans of South American Arabicas. Its top notes are almond biscotti and vanilla. Imagine creating the Infinement Gourmand into the most exquisite hazelnut macchiato and pairing it with dense crunchy cookies.

Finally, the Infiniment Fruité has the refreshing notes of raspberry and cereal. The Arabica is also sourced from South America. Just add a bit of milk for creaminess and pair it with any pie that has a sweet tart flavor. On the Nespresso website (https://nespresso.ph) is a suggestion to create a raspberry spritz with Infiniment Fruité as the base. The recipe makes for a great alternative to alcoholic drinks at Christmas parties.

The most thoughtful gifts come in the most delightful packages. The Nespresso and Pierre Hermé collection comes in wrappings that bring cheer to the receiver. Infiniment Espresso comes in Magic Blue, Infiniment Gourmand in gold, and Infiniment Fruité in raspberry shade. All of the capsules are delightfully sprinkled with gold. It will remind you of the gold leaf placed in the most decadent treats.

The collection is a gift to the senses—from its aroma to the sensation of holding a warm cup of drink. To prolong the experience, Pierre Hermé collaborated with master French perfumer Olivia Giacobetti to come up with the Café Noble Scented Candle.

The scent is inspired by the Colombian tradition of adding golden-brown raw sugar to coffee, to which a combination of cinnamon, vanilla, spice and a robust Arabica bean is added. Even here, Nespresso stays committed to being earth-friendly. The candle comes in a reusable porcelain holder.

The festive collection doesn’t end there. An advent calendar that adults will enjoy is also available. The calendar contains 24 capsules of Nespresso and Pierre Hermé coffees with Nespresso favorites, and a surprise on the last day.

Just the thought of waking up to a surprise blend every morning makes for a delightful countdown to Christmas day.
A limited-edition CitiZ machine in Magic Blue is also available to create Nespresso and Pierre Hermé coffee recipes.
