TOWNS Foundation members with 2022 TOWNS awardees

The Outstanding Women in the Nation’s Service (TOWNS) recently honored its 11 awardees for this triennial event.

Nine of the awardees received their citations in person: Ani Almario (Education/Entrepreneurship), Rubilen Amit (Sports), Dr. Pia D. Bagamasbad (Molecular Biology), Dr. Beverly L. Ho (Medicine/Public Health), Dr. Erika Fille Legara (Data Science), Ana Patricia Non (Community Service), Anna Rosario Oposa (Marine Ecology Conservation), Gina Romero (Women Empowerment through ICT) and Dr. Aletta T. Yniguez (Marine Science). Two of the awardees, Keisha A. Mayuga (Transport Planning) and Pia M. Ranada (Investigative Journalism), are out of the country pursuing higher studies. Their awards were received by family members.

TOWNS president Ces Oreña-Drilon acknowledged San Miguel Corp.’s Ramon S. Ang for his support of the year-long 2022 TOWNS Search. The distinguished panel of judges was headed by Chief Justice Alexander Gesmundo, with Rogelio L. Singson, president of the Management Association of the Philippines; Dr. Eugenio Jose F. Ramos, president/CEO of Medical City; Senen C. Bacani, former Secretary of the Department of Agriculture; and TOWNS members lawyer Lilia B. de Lima, Dr. Esperanza I. Cabral and Oreña-Drilon.

TOWNS performing artists Celeste Legaspi, Rachelle Gerodias and Karla Gutierrez sang with young guest singer Esang De Torre. Floy Quintos wrote and directed the TOWNS awards ceremonies held at the Dusit Thani Hotel in Makati.
