The first look at Netflix’s non-linear series–Kaleidoscope

Netflix just dropped the first trailer for the heist thriller/drama series Kaleidoscope. This is the very first non-linear streaming experience the franchise will ever be releasing. Meaning, the show can be watched in (almost) any order the viewer chooses, and the streaming service even went as far as randomizing the order of each episode for every single Netflix homepage.

The series follows a group of clever thieves breaking into the most secure vault in the United States to try and steal $7 billion for the biggest payday in history. The action-packed series is divided into eight episodes spanning 24 years before the heist and a couple of months after, with each episode named after a color and a specified timeframe (ie: Blue: 5 Days Before the Heist) instead of being numbered.

All viewers are meant to watch the first episode titled “Black,” and all subsequent episodes will be cued randomly until the audience reaches the finale titled “White” which will be the same for all Netflix users. This will create a “different immersive viewing experience” specific to each user.

The anthology features some of our favorite stars from well-loved series and films. The cast includes; Giancarlo Esposito from Breaking Bad and The Mandalorian, Paz Vega from the OA, Tati Gabrielle from the Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, Rufus Sewell from the Man in the High Castle, Jai Courtney from the Suicide Squad, Peter Mark Kendall from The Americans, and Hemky Madera from Queen of the South.
