Christmas just got sweeter and a whole lot tastier with Marco Polo Ortigas Manila

Just recently, I was given the opportunity to have a small taste of what they had to offer in their Cucina Restaurant on the 24th floor of the hotel. A massive collection featuring cuisines from all over the world, including Japanese, Chinese, Spanish, Italian, and Filipino among others, you won’t run out of options to choose from. Take your pick; noodles, pasta, roasted meat, dim sum, cakes, and ice cream, whatever floats your boat, they have it.

As someone who would immediately feast on Japanese dishes whenever I would find myself at any buffet, the star of the entire meal for me would be their selection of sushi and sashimi that I all absolutely loved. Staples of any assortment of sashimi, their salmon and tuna were perfectly fresh, melting in your mouth as soon as you put it in, an indicator of its quality.  

But of course, it wouldn’t be much of an objective assessment since I liked this type of food, to begin with. Aside from them, some standouts for me were their Seafood Paella, Shumai, and the Lechon we all know and love. As for dessert, their Bread Pudding, Cheesecake, and Chocolate Cookies were the perfect palette cleansers to cap off the wonderful meal.

During our lunch, I had the pleasure of being able to converse with Marco Polo Ortigas Manila’s General Manager, Colin Heady. Looking back at his humble beginnings as a chef in Europe, and eventually working his way up to the position he holds today, Heady asserted that central to what they want to offer to guests visiting the hotel this holiday season is simplicity delivered at the highest quality. It may seem contradictory, given the status and the reputation of the establishment as a consistent five-star awardee, but simplicity in this sense is not mediocrity for the sake of not offering much. Rather, it is avoiding the tendency to bombard with luxury and extravagance, keeping it simple to remind you that during this time, your gifts are the people you’re spending your time with. The mouth-watering food, the amenities, the activities, these are just supplementary, supports built in to enhance your overall experience with the people you love and cherish. A visit to Marco Polo Ortigas Manila does not just guarantee you a five-star world-class service, but the avenue that sets you up for a celebration free of worry, and full of glee.

Cucina, the all-day dining restaurant will be serving up decadent meals for its guests for Christmas and New Year’s. Christmas Eve Dinner (6:00 PM to 10:00 PM) is PHP 4,388, while Christmas Day lunch (12:00 PM to 2:30 PM) and dinner (6:00 PM to 10:00 PM) are PHP 3,588. New Year’s Eve Dinner (6:00 PM to 10:00 PM) is PHP 4,388, while New Year’s Day Lunch (12:00 PM to 2:30 PM) is PHP 3,588.

 

But wait, there’s more up their sleeve.

Looking to satisfy your sweet tooth? Cafe Pronto located on the ground floor of Marco Polo Ortigas Manila, you will find wonderful treats fitting for the holidays such as; the Ginger Bread House (PHP 2,200), the Christmas Fruit Cake (PHP 700), the Chocolate Christmas Tree (PHP 360), and the Blueberry Cream Cheese Cake (PHP 2,700), among many others. They also offer luxury picnic hampers (ranging from PHP 7,950 to PHP 9,600) consisting of the finest selections of wine, chocolate, jam, cheese, and more.

 

Back on the 24th floor, refresh with the Connect Lounge’s range of holiday sips which includes the; Highbush Freeze (PHP 685), Cold Mary (PHP 365), Sour Spritzer (PHP 310), Holli Fruity (PHP 225), and White Tipsy (PHP 350). The Bubbly Afternoon Tea is also available daily from 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM, wherein guests can indulge in homemade savories and sweets paired with two glasses of tea for PHP 1,405.

 

Perhaps in the mood for authentic Cantonese cuisine? These await you at the Lung Hin restaurant on the 44th floor. Indulge in the holiday spirit with the restaurant’s award-winning fresh seafood, savory meats, rich soup, and desserts. December 24 and 25 Lunch (11:30 AM to 2:30 PM) and Dinner (5:30 PM to 10:00 PM) are PHP 18,888 for five persons and PHP 35,888 for 10 persons. December 30 and 31, 2022, and January 1, 2023 Lunch (11:30 AM to 2:30 PM) and Dinner (5:30 PM to 10:00 PM) are PHP 21,888 for five persons and PHP 41,888 for 10 persons.

 

Also on the 44th floor, the culinary team behind the Continental Club will be elevating the holiday evenings with luxurious 4-course dinners. Christmas Eve Dinner (7:30 PM to 11:00 PM) is PHP 3,988 while New Year’s Eve Dinner (7:30 PM to 11:00 PM) is PHP 4,588.
