National Artist Abdulmari Asia Imao, multifaceted artist Claude Tayag and sculptor Juan Sajid Imao, three artists from three different generations come together in a special exhibit titled “Triangulo.”
The exhibition showcases diverse styles and materials united by the sculptors’ common passion for artistic excellence.
National Artist Imao proudly shows his famous ukkil and sarimanok designs in acrylic paintings as well as selected sculptures. Tayag continues his playful explorations in wood with his functional sculptures. The younger Imao conveys his personal experiences with his bold sculptures in hammered brass treated with patina and paint.
The works of Abdulmari Imao in this exhibit shall be included in his upcoming coffee-table book that shall feature him as the first Moro to be honored as National Artist in 2006.
The exhibit is ongoing at The Gallery, L/2, Greenbelt 5 (near Adora), Makati City.
“Triangulo” is organized by Art Gallery Philippines in cooperation with LJC Group of Restaurants, Cibo, Cabalen, Sentro, Milky Way, and The Artery Manila.
