Following the release of its 12th and 13th episode as a one-hour special, Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War is set to return for its second cour in July 2023. Watch the new trailer below!
The anime reboot’s first cour finished with Substitute Soul Reaper Ichigo Kurosaki discovering his roots, located in his family’s history as told by his father. He sheds light on how he met his mother and the circumstances surrounding them—a necessary step Ichigo had to undertake to achieve greater strength for the battle to come. The upcoming cour will continue from this, going through Soul Society’s preparations in anticipation of the enemy Quincy’s next arrival, and the events during the imminent surprise attack.
Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War is the long-awaited continuation/conclusion of the hit anime series, which originally ran from 2004 to 2012. It concluded then with the Lost Substitute Shinigami arc, leaving fans without its proper ending as depicted in the manga.
The adaptation, animated by Studio Pierro, is slated to run for four cours over the course of a year, with each batch of releases consisting of 12 to 13 episodes.
