Greta Thunberg may have just gotten Andrew Tate arrested

Former kickboxing world champion and controversial social media influencer Andrew Tate was reportedly arrested in Romania on charges of human trafficking, rape, and forming an organized crime group. Alongside his brother Tristan and two other unnamed individuals, he was taken into custody by the Directorate for Investigating Organized Crime and Terrorism (DIICOT) in Bucharest.

Prior to his arrest, Tate recently made the headlines for his brief exchange with climate change activist Greta Thunberg. The divisive figure is known for his comments against ideas that he believes are being promulgated by the so-called “matrix” for the sake of keeping people in leashes. The 19-year-old and her ideals were his latest target.

Via Twitter, Tate called out Thunberg, saying “ Hello @GretaThunberg I have 33 cars. My Bugatti has a w16 8.0L quad-turbo. My TWO Ferrari 812 competizione have 6.5L v12s. This is just the start. Please provide your email address so I can send a complete list of my car collection and their respective enormous emissions.”

A clapback for the ages, unbothered, Thunberg replied to the unprovoked taunting “yes, please do enlighten me. email me at smalldickenergy@getalife.com.”

A 36-year-old man beefing with a 19-year-old is a sorry sight, but overcome with pettiness that would get him detained by the authorities, Tate took it a step further, posting a video in response to Thunberg. A cigar on hand, wearing nothing but a robe, and hopefully some underwear, he goes on a two-minute rant saying “She thinks she’s doing good, someone has sat her down and convinced her to try and convince you to beg your government to tax you into poverty to stop the sun from being hot.”

It is believed that this video was instrumental to the successful raid as the video showed him receiving a pizza box from a local chain called ‘Jerry’s Pizza’—this prompted officials to take action, receiving sufficient information that their suspect was in the country.

Who’s going to be using those cars when you’re in jail? Decreasing global emissions while helping apprehend an international criminal, Greta, you’ve done us proud.

According to a statement by the agency, four individuals including the Tates organized a criminal group where they would recruit women via the false promise of marriage with the goal of coercing them to create pornographic content to be sold. It is reported that they operate by moving the victims to Ilfov county where, “by exercising acts of physical violence and mental coercion (through intimidation, constant surveillance, control and invoking alleged debts), they were sexually exploited by group members by forcing them to perform demonstrations pornographic for the purpose of producing and disseminating through social media platforms material.”

DIICOT has announced that they’ve secured six individuals who were reportedly taken advantage of by the group.

Andrew Tate however has recently spoken about the matter, claiming that the arrest was nothing more than a case of “swatting”.

He explains, “It’s where you call the police and you say somebody has a gun or there’s a hostage situation, and the SWAT team arrives. Somebody made a phone call to the American Embassy saying I was holding women at my house. “[Police] turned up, they investigated, they realized nobody was in the house against their will, there was no crime committed […] we had to go to the police station for 45 minutes for pieces of paper, we filled them in and we were let go,” Dexerto reports.
