Everything we know so far about Prince Harry’s upcoming memoir

Prince Harry’s tell-all memoir is causing quite a stir, and it hasn’t even been released yet. Entitled ‘Spare’, the autobiography is scheduled to hit shelves on January 10, 2023. However, following a leak, shocking bombshells have already made rounds online, detailing events that have transpired behind palace walls.

In his memoir, the Duke of Sussex is definitely not holding back, dropping numerous jaw-dropping anecdotes that the British Royals probably won’t be too happy about.

Just weeks after the release of his Netflix docuseries alongside his wife Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, Harry expounds on his narrative revealing details about his life, and promising a “definitive account of the experiences, adventures, losses, and life lessons that have helped shape him”. Among these are never-before-revealed details about the British royals, including an alleged physical altercation between the Duke of Sussex and his brother, Prince William, teenage drug use, dealing with his late mother Princess Diana’s death, a feud between Duchess Meghan and Kate Middleton, and concerns about the now-Queen Consort, Camilla.

Physical altercation between Harry and William

After seeing the advance copy of the highly anticipated book, The Guardian reveals that  William, the Prince of Wales, knocked him to the floor during the altercation. The scuffle was the result of a confrontation between the two brothers after William arrived at Harry and Meghan’s then-home, Nottingham Cottage on Kensington Palace grounds in London with the intention to discuss the current state of their relationship and struggles with the press wherein Prince William reportedly called Meghan “difficult,” “rude” and “abrasive,”.

Harry alleges that William attacked him after he attempted to cool a heated argument. The Guardian quotes Harry: “He set down the water, called me another name, then came at me. It all happened so fast. So very fast. He grabbed me by the collar, ripping my necklace, and he knocked me to the floor. I landed on the dog’s bowl, which cracked under my back, the pieces cutting into me. I lay there for a moment, dazed, then got to my feet and told him to get out.”

Teenage Drug Use

Despite having denied it in the past, Harry admitted to using cocaine at age 17 in his tell-all. He shared that he was first offered the drug “At someone’s house, during a hunting weekend, I was offered a line, and since then I had consumed some more.” He added that “It wasn’t much fun, and it didn’t make me particularly happy, as it seemed to make everyone around me. but it did make me feel different, and that was the main goal,”.

Dealing with Princess Diana’s death

In one section Harry shares about his attempt to contact his late mother, Diana, Princess of Wales through a medium in Africa. This happened during Prince Harry’s most tumultuous time when he was still dating his now-wife Meghan Markle. In a chilling revelation, the medium told him Princess Diana was ‘visiting him’, to which Harry described as an emotional moment. The Medium also shared with Harry a “message” from Diana, saying: “You’re living the life she couldn’t…You’re living the life she wanted for you,”.

The feud between Duchess Meghan and Princess Kate

Harry also shared details about the infamous fight that Megan Markle and Kate Middleton had leading up to the Sussex wedding. Harry claimed that his sister-in-law had a problem with Princess Charlotte‘s bridesmaid dress just days before the wedding back in May 2018. Harry revealed that “back and forth” about the dresses left resulted in him finding Megan “on the floor sobbing” adding that he “was horrified to see [Meghan] so upset, but I didn’t think it was a catastrophe. … Indeed the following day Kate came by with flowers and a card that said she was sorry. This further supports Meghan’s claim that the reverse was true after reports circulated that Kate was the one in tears after something Meghan had said or done days leading up to the wedding.

Concerns about Camilla

Another anecdote from the book recounts how Harry reportedly “begged” his father not to marry Camilla for his fear of her becoming a “wicked step-mother”. He recalls him and William promising Charles they would welcome Camilla into the family – in exchange Prince Charles would promise not to marry her which we can all say did not hold true.

In another shocking bombshell, Harry accuses Camilla of leaking details of her conversation to the press. He claims that the information could have only come from the communications person Camilla convinced his dad to hire.
