Sofia Richie and Elliot Grainge have officially tied the knot!
In a ceremony held in the South of France, the couple exchanged vows in front of their nearest and dearest, which included some of Hollywood’s biggest names.
Sofia is the youngest daughter of music legend Lionel Richie, and the half-sister of designer, entrepreneur, and former reality star Nicole Richie.
Her now-husband, Elliot Grainge also comes from music royalty being a music executive and founder of record label 10K projects. His father, Lucien Grainge, also happens to be the chairman and CEO of Universal Music Productions, meaning that his roots surely go way back.
During an interview with Access Hollywood, Lionel Richie shared a bit about how Grainge asked for Sofia’s hand in marriage, calling him “a nervous wreck” (as any boyfriend would be!).
“I thought he was going to pass out, but he survived it,” Lionel said.
He also added, “I was going to rib him a little bit, but I didn’t want to play, he was going to faint. It was wonderful … they’re deeply in love, so all I can say is, that’s what you really want as a dad.”
For the big day, Richie went all-out with her looks, donning three custom Chanel dresses. The first dress, designed for the wedding rehearsal, was a beautiful high-necked, long-sleeved beaded number. A look that originally appeared on the runway in black, the frock was transformed into a delicate white dress especially for Richie.
As for her wedding ceremony dress, Chanel created a beautiful halter neck dress with romantic floral lace and iridescent beads.
In an interview with Vogue, Richie talked about her dress, describing it as “magic,” adding, “I honestly think Elliot is going to love it. He is my biggest cheerleader when it comes to anything I wear. If he doesn’t cry, I’ll be very sad.”
As for her final look, Richie donned a beautiful dress that featured Chanel’s iconic camellia flower for the after party. The dress also happened to be worn by Claudia Schiffer on the runway during the 90s.
