Helmut Lang Appoints Peter Do as Creative Director

Vietnamese-American fashion designer Peter Do has officially been appointed the position of creative director at Helmut Lang

 


 

Peter Do, the enigmatic New York-based fashion designer known for his highly tailored silhouettes and structured designs has officially taken on the top job at Helmut Lang as creative director.

“No one embodied radical thinking more definitely than Helmut Lang,” Do said in a statement, “it is my deep honor to be entrusted with ushering in the next chapter of [his] legacy,” he shared.

As the brand’s creative director, Do will be overseeing all creative responsibilities for both men’s and women’s collections.

His first collection for the fashion house is set to debut in the spring of 2024 in New York City.

A graduate of New York City’s Fashion Institute of Technology, Do immigrated to the United States at the age of 14, settling in the inner suburbs of Philadelphia where he lived with his family.

During his time at the Fashion Institute, Do was recognized for his impeccable skill and awarded LVMH’s 2014 graduate prize. He then went on to work at the RTW ateliers of Céline and Derek Lam, respectively.

Peter Do will continue helming his namesake label as he carries out his new responsibilities at Helmut Lang.
