Bb. Pilipinas-Universe 2017 Rachel Peters has been the talk of the country since her win last night. Rightfully so as she did perform well, from swimsuit category to the Q&A portion.
Now that she’s the Philippines’ representative for Miss Universe, it’s only right that we get to know her a bit more. We did some digging and found out couple of things about the 25-year-old entrepreneur-slash-beauty queen.
#1 She joined Miss World Philippines in 2014
Rachel was crowned 4th princess during Miss World Philippines 2014. That year, Valerie Weigmann succeeded Miss World 2013 Megan Young.
However, Rachel’s relationship with MWP didn’t end there as she was invited to anchor Miss World Philippines 2016 alongside Lauren Reid.
#2 Worked with Katy Perry and Christina Aguilera
After taking up Business, Tourism, and Events at La Trobe University in Australia, Rachel had the opportunity to organize events for international artists. “I have been lucky enough to work with Katy Perry and Christina Aguilera,” she said in a short Bb. Pilipinas video. Additionally, she’s worked with Midas Promotions to organize Jessie J and The Script’s shows here.
#3 Avid concert-goer
In relation to the previous point, Rachel loves going to concerts. The most recent was The Moffatts’ final tour last February where she sang onstage.

Other big names she’s seen were OneRepublic, The Script, Beyoncé, and Rihanna.
#4 Loooves dogs
One look at her Instagram account and you’ll know how much she adores dogs. We dare you to count how many times Rachel posed with these fur babies.
#5 Meet her other half
Rachel is currently dating Camarines Sur Governor Migz Villafuerte. They’re often seen traveling to local beaches, as well as foreign destinations like Thailand and Japan. Rachel also tags along whenever Migz does charity work in Bicol. When they’re not going anywhere, they just chill with their bulldog Ronda.
#6 Secret talent: painting
During a trip to Sip & Gogh in Alabang, Rachel painted her own version of Starry Night. She also did a couple small paintings of parrots and flowers during her spare time.
#7 Can kick your butt in boxing
The secret to her fit body? Intense training at a muay thai gym. The video above shows how Rachel works out, including how hard she can punch.
