Avoid the SONA 2018 traffic with these alternate routes

The stretch of Commonwealth Avenue from Tandang Sora to Batasan will be closed tomorrow, July 23 for the State of the Nation Address (SONA) of President Rodrigo Duterte at the Batasang Pambansa Complex, Constitution Hills. The road closure will start at 12:01 a.m.

In line with this, the Quezon City government also suspended the classes in both public and private schools in all levels.

In an advisory by the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA), motorists are advised to take these alternate routes:

Southbound (Fairview to Quezon Memorial Circle)

  • Along Commonwealth Ave., turn right to Fairlane St., right to Dahlia Ave., left to Lilac St. or Chestnut, right to Republic Ave., Don Gregorio Road, Old Sauyo to Mindanao Ave. and vice versa
  • Along Commonwealth Ave., turn right to Regalado Ave., right to Republic Ave., Don Gregorio Road, Old Sauyo Road to Mindanao Ave. and vice versa

Eastbound

  • Along Quezon Memorial Circle, right turn to Visayas Ave., left to Congressional Ave., right to Mindanao Ave., right turn to Old Sauyo or Quirino Highway to destination
  • Along Quezon Memorial Circle, right turn to North Ave., right turn to Mindanao Ave., right turn to Old Sauyo Road or Quirino Highway to destination
