Raynald Aeschlimann, President and CEO of OMEGA, proudly welcomed guests to the cocktail event and was on hand to officially open the exhibition, which will run until November 19th

He said, “OMEGA’s DNA is something very unique and special. Throughout the years, we’ve shown genuine magic and innovation in everything we’ve created. It’s a thrill to be here and see so many of our most famous designs on display. And I’m so pleased to be joined by Nicole, who has always demonstrated our values of excellence and elegance.”

The Academy Award-winning actress, Nicole Kidman, has been an OMEGA ambassador since 2005 and is now one of the brand’s longest-serving icons. Her inspiring style has been seen throughout the years across numerous OMEGA advertising campaigns, and more recently, she has regularly appeared at the brand’s “Her Time” events, which celebrate OMEGA’s renowned history of women’s watchmaking.

Speaking at the opening event in New York, she said, “OMEGA has been influential in so many aspects of life, as you can see in this gorgeous exhibition. The brand has always inspired me, and I love that their story can now be shared in this special way. It’s not until you see these watches up close that you begin to understand the beauty and craftsmanship involved.”

Nicole is often spotted at red carpet events wearing her choice of vintage OMEGA timepieces. At this exhibition, she was able to admire some of the brand’s current styles, along with an original Ladymatic from 1955, which was touted as a revolution in ladies’ watchmaking when it was first released.

Also joining the Opening Night celebrations were a number of invited OMEGA friends and ambassadors.

These included the actor Paul Wesley and the Swiss singer/songwriter, Bastian Baker.

The Planet OMEGA exhibition is filled with watches and stories from across the decades. Within the location, the space has been split into six distinctive areas, including Olympic Games and Sport, Space,

Ocean, James Bond, Friends, and Precision. Some of the highlights to see up close include the OMEGA wristwatch worn by Elvis Presley as well as the OMEGA Slimline timepiece worn by John F. Kennedy at his presidential Inauguration Ceremony in 1961.

The exhibition will remain open to the public from November 10 – 19, from Monday to Sunday, 11am to 7pm, at the Chelsea Factory, 547 W 26th Street. Visitors are encouraged to book their place in advance.
