Rustan’s Private Labels recently showed various styles to make this summer season even hotter.

Inspired by sought-after destinations, Jill and Luna by Jojie Lloren featured hues reminiscent of Ibiza, Provence, Capri and Barcelona. With a ’60s flair, woven and knitted fabrics were made into mid-length frocks, ladylike separates and elegant floor-sweeping dresses.

Culte Femme also took a cue from the past with its collection of ’50s-inspired yet edgy pieces. Soft fabrics such as chiffon, silk chiffon and cotton were transformed into masculine staples, such as collared polo shirts and trousers in subtle shades of nude and pastel. Details such as knots, uneven hemlines, cutouts, heavy piping and abstract prints kept the pieces interesting.

For those who prefer a dose of brights, the brand offered sportswear-inspired ensembles in blue and fuchsia. Feminine frocks with full skirts, peplum tops and shift dresses also made for the ultimate retro revival.

Another print enthusiast was Criselda Lontok, with her collection’s fanciful prints in vivid hues. Known for lush fabrics and lavish embellishments, the brand’s classic yet quirky aesthetic reinvented timeless pieces such as cigarette pants, ponchos and asymmetrical dresses.

Clean silhouettes

For nippy nights out on the town, Oleg Cassini’s polished and clean silhouettes in knit jersey and silk blend fabrics easily take you from daytime casual to evening chic with just a tweak in styling. Cap off a shift dress-and-blazer ensemble with a pair of towering heels and a dainty leopard-print clutch, and you’re good to go.

The young and hip can also get their fashion fix with U’s Coachella-inspired collection. Loose silhouettes, chalky pastels, checks, stripes, and lightweight fabrics on button-down shirts and roomy dresses make for a laid-back look.

Even fashionable tots weren’t left out with Kiddo’s offerings, designed by Mandy de la Rama Santos. From colorful swimwear to cute clothing with a nautical and bohemian feel, the brand made sure to keep kids comfortable and, at the same time, on-trend.

With all the lush fabrics, spiffy prints and easy silhouettes, a summer-ready wardrobe is definitely in order.

Rustan’s is located in Makati, Shangri-La, Gateway, Alabang Town Center and Cebu.
