After a highly successful year in cinema and television, 2024 looks to carry on the momentum and to our benefit. With intriguing and must-see releases coming left and right—it won’t matter which streaming service you’re subscribed to—here are 10 films and series to keep on your radar.

Hit Man

From an unlikely relationship formed by faking it till you make it, Glen Powell follows up on the highly successful “Anyone but You” with the steamy “Hit Man.”

“From Academy Award-nominated writer/director Richard Linklater, co-written and starring Glen Powell alongside Adria Arjona, comes Hit Man. Inspired by an unbelievable true story, a hit man meets his match in a client who steals his heart and ignites a powder keg of deception, delight, and mixed-up identities.”

“Hit Man” comes to Netflix on June 7.

Ripley

Andrew Scott is set to lead the upcoming eight-episode limited series as protagonist Tom Ripley.

“Scott’s Tom Ripley is a grifter scraping by in early ’60s New York. He’s hired by a wealthy industrialist to travel to Italy to try to convince the man’s dilettante son, Dickie Greenleaf (Johnny Flynn), to return home. Accepting the job is Tom’s first step into a complex life of deceit, fraud, and murder,” shares Netflix.

“Ripley” comes to Netflix on April 4.

Avatar: The Last Airbender

“Avatar: The Last Airbender live-action I feel like is going to bring everything you know and love about the original series back to life,” said Gordon Cormier, who plays Aang. After a streak of successful live-action adaptations, let’s hope he’s correct for this one.

“Avatar: The Last Airbender” comes to Netflix on February 22.

Kung Fu Panda 4

“After three death-defying adventures defeating world-class villains with his unmatched courage and mad martial arts skills, Po, the Dragon Warrior, is called upon by destiny to … give it a rest already. More specifically, he’s tapped to become the Spiritual Leader of the Valley of Peace.”

However, retirement doesn’t come so easy as the emerging villainess, Chameleon has their eyes on Po’s Staff of Wisdom, which would give her the power to re-summon all of Po’s past foes

Jack Black reprises his role as the unlikely Dragon Warrior and is joined by Viola Davis and Awkwafina.

“Kung Fu Panda 4” hits theaters on March 8.

Dune: Part Two

“‘Dune: Part Two’ will explore the mythic journey of Paul Atreides as he unites with Chani and the Fremen while on a path of revenge against the conspirators who destroyed his family. Facing a choice between the love of his life and the fate of the known universe, he endeavors to prevent a terrible future only he can foresee.”

Timothée Chalamet is joined by Zendaya, Rebecca Ferguson, Josh Brolin, Austin Butler, Florence Pugh, Dave Bautista, Christopher Walken, and Léa Seydoux among others.

“Dune: Part Two” hits theaters on March 1.

Deadpool 3

After several scheduling changes, the “Merc with a Mouth” is set to finally team up with Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine, and join the MCU continuity. There isn’t much that we know about the upcoming title but a likely first trailer released during Super Bowl LVIII is sure to clear a couple of things up.

“Deadpool 3” hits theaters on July 26.

Mr. & Mrs. Smith

Donald Glover and Maya Erskine take the stage in the upcoming “Mr. & Mrs. Smith” television adaptation.

“Mr. & Mrs. Smith” comes to Prime Video on February 2.

The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare

“The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare,” tells the story of the first-ever special forces organization formed during WWII. The top-secret unit is sent to go on a daring mission against the Nazis using entirely unconventional and “ungentlemanly” fighting techniques.

The film’s cast includes Henry Cavill, Eiza González, Alan Ritchson, Alex Pettyfer, Hero Fiennes Tiffin, Babs Olusamokun, Henrique Zaga, Til Schweiger, Henry Golding, and Cary Elwes, and is directed by Guy Ritchie.

“The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare” hits theaters on April 19.

Fallout

Coming to Prime is another video game adaptation that must meet high expectations, and match the success of the likes of HBO’s “The Last of Us.” 

“200 years after the apocalypse, the gentle denizens of luxury fallout shelters are forced to return to the irradiated hellscape their ancestors left behind—and are shocked to discover an incredibly complex, gleefully weird, and highly violent universe waiting for them.”

“Fallout” stars Ella Purnell, Aaron Moten, Walton Goggins, and more.

“Fallout” comes to Prime Video on April 12.

The New Look

“The New Look” casts Ben Mendelsohn as Christian Dior, Juliette Binoche as Coco Chanel, Maisie Williams as Catherine Dior, John Malkovich as Lucien Lelong, Emily Mortimer as Elsa Lombardi, and Claes Bang as Spatz.

“The New Look” comes to Apple TV+ on February 14.
