Breathable yet stylish summer wear continues to be the trend for Charina Sarte’s newest Valentine’s capsule
Charina Sarte remains to be a staple for every Filipina closet.
Having spent a significant amount of time in the Philippines, Sarte designs and crafts with the Filipina in mind, and with consideration to our country’s tropical climate. Featuring prints, eyelets, and vibrant colors, her eponymous label encourages dressing up in spite of the heat, not in accordance with it.
“Proudly made for women, designed by a woman, and made by women,” each Charina Sarte piece places you at the forefront of its design process. It’s no secret that dazzling stars such as Sofia Andres and Sarah Lahbati keep coming back for more.

“When I design a collection, I always try to think of women of different generations—how they can make my designs their own. What they have in common is that they are looking for clothing that will make them feel beautiful and accentuate their femininity,” shares Sarte.
Not to mention, the cotton and linen they use are sustainable, renewable, and biodegradable—carefully and thoughtfully made not only for the Filipina figure but for the environment also.

Charina Sarte’s 2024 Valentine’s capsule collection continues the label’s trend of breathable yet stylish summer wear. The special selection comes in black and white and features a heavy emphasis on eyelets that brings to mind their Dandelion Top & Shorts and Midi Dress.
Without their famed prints and vibrant colors and in exchange for a more monotone look, Sarte explains, “After working with prints season after season, I felt like a change of direction was needed—a palate cleanser of sorts. I wanted to introduce something fresh to our clientele.”

However, working with eyelets is not something new for the designer. She adds, “I’ve always worked with eyelets in my collections, but just never did this much in one. I am obsessed with all the fabrics we worked with. All of them were so special and delicate.”
