“I hate feeling too done up,” says Jess Connelly, 22. “There was one time I bought a pair of new mom jeans and I tripped outside a McDonalds, and it ripped, but I just kept it.” Ex-PBB contender and vocalist of the steadily growing synth-pop band Sinyma, Jess personifies the style of the current times: nonchalant, effortless and uncaring. We love for her for one reason—when the rest of the fair, mestiza-looking, feminine-featured celebrities out there glam up donning long wavy hair and summer dresses, she chops her tresses off and goes out in baggy pants and funky sunglasses. It’s fresh and it’s different, and because of that, she landed a cover in Scout’s May issue.
