For the past few seasons, makeup trends on the runways filled the air with deafening silence—they shouted with nothing but a whisper. The normcore trend of spring 2015 brought about the less-is-more makeup looks and seasons past gave us the dewy face, the bare-faced look, and the no-makeup look. But fall/winter 2015 appears to be making up for this deficit in color. We are talking about the ultimate beauty shake up here—outrageous, over-the-top, crazy (scary…) makeup!
This runways’ overall shift from normcore to glamcore gave us Givenchy’s septum rings, Alexander McQueen’s frosted, white lashes, and Maison Margiela’s—I don’t even know about this one—clowns?
Truly, the makeup trend this season is a game of extremes. And it isn’t for the faint of heart. Given, these looks fall on the fantasy side but what if—just what if—women sported these crazy beauty looks in real life? Bedazzled faces and as-if-chased-by-a-paintbrush looks would be on the loose!
