Did I Just See Alden Richards Pack Some Groceries?

Right now, Alden Richards, James Reid, and Liza Soberano are perhaps the most recognizable faces in the entertainment industry. Drawing in a massive fan base, scoring major advertisements, and starring in primetime shows, you can’t really think of seeing them anywhere else but where they are now.

But what if you suddenly realize that Alden’s packing your groceries at the cashier? What will you say if the guy who insists on inspecting your bags at the building entrance is James? Will you be able to state your order as Liza’s beautiful face smiles down on you at a café?

In a publicity stint for a series of viral videos, these three celebrities went undercover and tried to fulfill blue-collar jobs for a short time. They didn’t get away it with it, of course.

Alden took on the name of Ricky Salumbre, and donned a cap, geeky glasses, and an apron to be a bagger boy at the grocery. Customers couldn’t help but do a double take, flirt, and even tell him that he should pursue a life in showbiz as he packed their purchases.

James Reid, on the other hand, was more than game to give pat down inspections and engage in small talk with guests as they entered the building he was manning. Most people, especially the women, just let their jaws drop out of disbelief. As people kept insisting that “Gino Medina” wasn’t who he claimed to be, James tried his best not to blow his cover in the cutest way possible.

Meanwhile, Liza Soberano couldn’t help but bring some of her dearest fans, including an elderly man, to tears, as she kindly took their orders at a coffee shop. She took great lengths at trolling people by asking if she’s met them before and asking her male customers if they were in a relationship.

Even comedienne and singer Kakai Bautista joined in on the fun as she pretended to be a manucurist at a salon. She surely gave her clients more than what they came in for with her signature smile and punch lines as Cathy Pinagpala.

The lucky people who got to prove that these celebrities weren’t who they claimed to be won a Metrobank YazzCard pre-loaded with 10,000 pesos.

But honestly, just being able to say that Alden was the one who packed my groceries for the day and see him in the flesh would have been more than enough of a reward.
